Sandy Bottom Nature Park Hosts Easter Eggstravaganza | Arts & Culture
Hampton, Virginia- On Saturday, April 23 celebrate the arrival of spring at Sandy Bottom Nature Park during the annual Easter Eggstravaganza. The event, scheduled 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., will include the Easter Bunny, a children’s craft area, storytelling, prizes, food vendors, and more.
Over 20 Easter egg hunts will be held throughout the day, with two beginning every ½-hour (the first set will start at 10:00 a.m., the last set at 2:30 p.m.). The hunts are to be broken down by age group (4-7 years of age and 8-12 years of age). One hunt per child, per age group, please.
In addition to the Easter egg hunts, children will also have a chance to have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. The cost is $5.00. Other activities include a real life bunny rabbit display and the Hampton Sherriff’s Department with IDent-A-Kid, a child identification program. New this year is the $2.00 hayride.
Taking place at one of Hampton’s most popular family attractions, Sandy Bottom Nature Park, this year’s hunt is sure to be a hit with both parents and children alike. The 456-acre recreational facility showcases two lakes, wetlands area, trails for hiking and biking, non-motorized boating, and a playground. Other features include a campground, yurts for rent, picnic area, and beautiful nature center. This year’s Easter Eggstravaganza is sponsored by the Friends of Sandy Bottom Nature Park and proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the non-profit organization.
Easter Eggstravaganza Admission Charge:
$5.00 4 -12 years of age
Additional $5.00 for a picture with the Easter Bunny
Additional $2.00 for hayride
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Sandy Bottom Nature Park is located at 1255 Big Bethel Road in Hampton. Parking is located on site.
